About Me

There is a common thread that flows between my life as a follower of Jesus Christ and as an artist.  As 1 Corinthians 10:31 states everything I do in any area of my life is done to bring the glory to God.

Whether it is painting or another form of creating, or simply living my life, I do all that I do for the love of God, who I believe loved me before I was ever aware of Him.

I do believe that God has gifted me with the love of nature, beauty, and color and given me the abilities to show that love in my artwork.  I also believe God has chosen me to encourage others, whether they purchase my artwork, are recipients of a creation of mine, or simply find a moment of joy looking at one of my images.

I create what I do, by the grace of God, and for His glory alone.

Having lived through many traumatic life experiences, God has used artwork to bring new joy into my life.  I hope and pray that you may find joy in one of my creations, and you, too - will give the glory to God.

I came to art much later in my life than I came to know Christ.  I was 40 before I ever seriously attempted drawing - having always claimed I couldn’t even draw stick figures.  I was introduced to a book, “Drawing on the Right Side of Your Brain” by Betty Edwards, by my sister.  I don’t think I’ve stop creating since, except when health issues have physically prevented me from doing so.

My career as a clinical psychologist, who specialized in working with children with identified emotional disabilities afforded me the opportunity to do art therapy with many of “my kids,” as I came to call them.  That career was cut short by the untimely death of my adult daughter and a subsequent car accident, followed by a mild stroke and a thyroid storm.

Art work was never far from me though. The sudden and unexpected death of my brother, my husband, and my mom within a few short months took it’s toll, culminating in a cardiac arrest where I was miraculously resuscitated after having been declared dead and my own bout with cancer, which after four years, has not returned.

I believe God knew that it wasn’t time for my journey to be over and He has led me on an amazing journey with Him and with artwork.

Today, I find much joy in miniature paintings of many different styles and mediums.  I love using pastels, acrylics, and watercolor.  Chinese Brush Painting has a place in my heart.  I love learning new techniques and new styles.

In and through all of this, I have known God’s guiding hand and to He and He alone goes the glory.  As I like to say - I am here and able to create “by His grace, and for His glory.”
